On Location Portrait sessions add another wonderful dimension. Whether you are outdoor people or just want to feature a special place in your portraits – bringing the environment into your portraits is great.
We have over 15 years of experience working with families, children, and dogs out on location. Our stunning studio lights are battery-powered, so we can still harness great lighting – but outdoors.
We talk with our clients to figure out a location that they love or that will deliver a look they have in mind. During the photoshoot, we know how to relax our clients, to distract them from thinking about being photographed, and to help them enjoy themselves – as quite simply when you are having fun, your images become natural, believable, and incredibly engaging. When you look at your portraits, you’ll see the real you, your personalities, your humour and the closeness between you all.
A portrait session out on location is also a great excuse to get the whole family together and can be the perfect way to celebrate a special event such as an anniversary or a birthday.

Through our discovery calls we learn what is most special and what connects you all.
Your discovery experience is then brought into your photography session. This is where we get to photograph what you love and treasure most in life.

There’s an energy to our photography sessions, they are enjoyable and fun, natural and easy for everyone. You interact with your loved ones rather than awkwardly pose for the camera. It’s just you really being yourselves – but together and connected.

Following on from your reveal is your design consultation, where we will assist you in the selection and customisation of your Artwork that will bring life to your home.
We work together to create incredible, bespoke artwork that really will become heirlooms for current and future generations to enjoy, a legacy to love
Once designed, your portraits and artwork will be edited and retouched before being sent in to production in order to come to life.
Our aim is to have your artwork ready for collection within 4-6 weeks of your order. Your finished wall art will be ready to display within your home where it will immediately exude all that love and emotion held within – and yes we would love to see a photo!
Photoshoots out on location have lots of variables, so it’s not surprising that they create lots of questions for those considering or planning for a session out on location somewhere. Here are some of the frequent ones, however do get in touch if you have different questions of your own.
We are based in Thatcham, so we are happy to travel to a location you specify in our surrounding area. If you want to go further afield this can be arranged, further costs will apply. In our local areas, we have some stunning forest areas, canal, lakes, and other stunning spaces we can visit and be pretty much undisturbed. However, if you have a special place then let’s go there.
If the weather is bad we have two options. Firstly we can revert back to our studio, secondly and if you specifically want an outdoor session, we allow one free move to another date. If the weather is poor on the following date and you wish to move again we charge half of our session fee to rebook again for a third time.
Technically there is no limit, as long as the environment we are shooting in allows. We can cater for very large groups and will have the time to break the group down into smaller family sets for example so you have variety and all combinations covered.
The best advice here is to keep the clothing suited to the environment and the weather conditions. You want to look and feel like yourself, so keep the clothing “normal”. That said, avoid really bright colours, stripes and heavy patterns where possible. Always avoid large logos on tops. Whilst you don’t want to be all in the same clothes, a degree of co-ordination looks great and means no one stands out or looks odd. So do put some thought into outfits in advance.
